The Catholic church is actively against the use of condoms for African people, as a result millions of africans are dying horribly of AIDS. The amount of lives that could be saved, is massive, but instead the vatican focuses not on the unborn but the unconceived!
So I am asking, is the catholic church secretly racist by wanting to eradicate black people?
Don't report this please, If you report this question, it undoubtedly means that you are racist (and probably catholic).

For procreation arguers- But the loss of sperm through masturbation or sex, doesn't make any difference because any sperm that isn't used isn't saved but absorbed back in the body anyway?

The Catholic Church is not actively stopping the distribution of condoms by others. The Catholic Church only states, and re-states the SAME position is has held forever on chastity and fidelity. All sexual unions must be within marriage and open to life.

The Vatican cannot ever approve the use of condoms. It is against God to have sex and yet prevent life. The Catholic Church cannot ever approve the use of birth control...for any reason. We belive in God, in God's word. The Vatican does not have the authority to "change" the word of God.

The Catholic Church actively promotes abstinence for all people of all races. Sex within marriage only, open to life.

The Church cannot approve of one evil to fix another. Telling people it's okay to sin in order to prevent a disease, just can't happen. It's never okay to sin, and the Church has no authority to justify sin.

The Catholic Church is pro-life. The Catholic Church is against all forms of artificial birth control. Anything that promotes sex which is not open to life cannot be approved by the Church. This has nothing to do with race!

To act as if the Catholic Church has control over all the aids victims in Africa and is killing them by not giving them condoms is very misleading. The Catholic Church does not have that much control in Africa. People can get condoms if they want. If they are Catholic, they are going against the teaching of their faith and they know that too. There are many other groups actively handing condoms out...and yet it hasn't "fixed" the problem has it?

A short examination, however, of the HIV/AIDS rates of those African countries that have a large Catholic population shows that the Church's accusers have not done the homework or are deliberately misreporting the facts. The available statistics show that countries with a large Catholic percentage population, show significantly lower rates of HIV/AIDS infections than countries with mostly non-Catholic populations.

2003 statistics from the World Factbook of the US Central Intelligence Agency, shows Burundi at 62% Catholic with 6% AIDS infection rate. Angola's population is 38% Roman Catholic and has 3.9% AIDS rate. Ghana is 63% Christian, with in some regions as much as 33% Catholic and has 3.1% AIDS rate. Nigeria, divided almost evenly between the strongly Muslim north and Christian and "animist" south, has 5.4% AIDS rate.

Strongly Christian Uganda continues to frustrate condom-pushing NGO's by maintaining its abstinence and fidelity AIDS prevention programs and one of the lowest rates of AIDS in Africa, at 4.1%. Uganda's population is listed by the CIA Factbook as 33% Roman Catholic and 33% Protestant.

The country in Africa with the lowest incidence of AIDS is Uganda - a country with a strong Catholic presence. Their AIDS rate is low because they follow the Catholic Church teaching of abstinance and monogomy.

For the Catholic Church to be responsible for the AIDS epidemic, it must BOTH condemn condom use (which it does) and be silent on sex outside of marriage (which it is not).

Yes, practicing abstinance and monogomy will not cure AIDS, but it will slow down it's spread, as has happened in Uganda.

ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!! you are too funny.
one of the primary tennents of the Catholic church is abstinance. it does not support condoms for married couples and would NEVER proport them for unmarried sexual activity.
it has NOTHING to do with an area, race or denomination. they ONLY way to stop the spread of AIDS is sex outside marriage/committed relationship. There will be the maybe 1% who get it from blood transfusions or other non-sexual reasoning but that now is ever lower due to knowledge.

do you not realize that one of the cardinals that was seriously considered for the papacy was "black".

No, it isn't. The Catholic Church can be justly accused of many awful things, but not racism. Jews, Moors, etc. were persecuted for their religion, not their race. If the AIDS crisis was occurring in Europe or North America the church would take the same stupid position:(

I've reported this message to the Holy Office. If I were you, I would expect the Spanish Inquisition!!!!

The Vatican is against condom use anywhere as they believe that sex is only for procreation. Yes, they need to amend their stance inlight of the prevelance of stds everywhere, but no they aren't motivated by racism.

No. The condom issue is religous belief about procreation, not racist.

I'd rather see them use condoms so they don't have millions of babies that they cannot feed.

The real problem is that they cannot control their base urges.
