I handed in my completed background packet a few days ago, and I have just remembered a job I had when I was 16. The job was a 1 day temporary position which actually was about 15 years ago. I wasn't fired or let go it was just a temp job. I forwarded the informaton to my background investigator. Will this cause a problem in the eyes of the department I am trying to get employeed by?

Congrats on getting to the background portion of the hiring process.

This will not affect you in a negative way at all. In fact, the investigator will probably be surprised and/or impressed with your diligence to be thorough.

Also, be sure that ALL of the information you put in the packet was either photocopied or stored on your computer. You will want to use the exact same info for any other packets you may fill out in the future. You need to be consistent because agencies share information.

Good luck!

Highly unlikely. A reasonable oversight that you remedied quickly. Chances are the oversight would never have been found during the background check. By being scrupulously honest I personally believe your ratings will climb. So relax and don't worry

Nah, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It was only a one day job and temporary as well. I do backgrounds and this wouldn't interfere unless you were fired or quit before being fired. Good luck.

I doubt it, provided you forward the info along. There is a huge difference between an honest mistake and trying to hide something. If you give them the info, they will know you have nothing to hide about that incident.

I would think that it would not. You forgot a one day thing that happened 15 years ago. You told them when you realized you forgot the job. There was no attempt to hide anything or commit any type of fraud.

Na. I forget plenty on mine. Long as you get it to them before they find it, they chalk it up to human nature. Good luck
