Calm down. You'll be fine. This isn't even an issue, IMO. I was told my dress would take a few months, and it came in in like 3 weeks!

The seamstresses I worked with usually did not take more than half a day to complete the alterations from the first fitting. (Sometimes it took up to two work days!) The other fittings usually took even less time, because all the major work was already done.

It may seem like a lot of work, but professionals know the tricks to get things done quickly. One month is more time than some brides I worked with had, but we made it work!

The only suggestion I have is just to check up with the bridal shop every so often. Call like once a month, and make sure everything is still on time. Do not, however, call every day.

Good Luck!

What on earth are you panicking for? You don't do fittings until the last couple weeks before the wedding anyways. Any sooner and it won't fit right. This is perfectly normal and had you wanted it sooner, you should have ordered it sooner!(every bridal store will tell you that too!) Focus on other things for now- this is right as it should be and not a concern. Just make sure you are getting alterations done somewhere that does them in store or find a private seamstress- To Katie above me- who on earth did you go to where the dress left the store for alterations, let alone the state?

It depends on if you're having bridal portraits made or when you HAVE to have the dress finished. My dress came in pretty early. and didn't really have to be altered. I got married April 21 last year. My portraits were a month before so i HAD to have my completed dress ready to go a month before. I wouldn't panic though. I think you still have plenty of time, but to ease your mind I would see if you could have it rush delivered. you may have to pay a little extra for this i'm not sure. Don't worry thought! Everything eventually comes together :)

I wouldnt panic. I like you would be livid.
First call and see why its taking that long, they should have gone over estimated dates of arrival with you when you orderd it that way if it was going to take too long you could have took care of that then and there. The usual wait time is between 6-10 weeks on a dress, unless its being hand made. If there is any way to rush it have them do it. Remember you do need a final fitting before the wedding with enough time to spare in case of any alterations need to be made.
I understand the panci so just in case have a back up dress ready. There are tons of places where you can now rent a wedding dress for really cheap. Try to find one of those stores and check them out to calm your nervers. That way in case and i mean just in case it doesnt arrive in time you will still have a dress.
Congrats and take deep breaths!!!! Your going to look beautiful no matter what dress you wear.

I think that will be perfectly fine having your dress a month ahead of the wedding. That seems like more than enough time to make sure it fits and stuff. If you weren't even shopping for a dress til then, then that would be kinda scary.

I know that it usually takes 12 to 18 weeks for dresses to make it to the store. But I would see if there is any way to rush this order a little bit. Me personality would want it like today so that I know that I have it and every this is ok (but I'm very obssesive about things like that. lol)

I wouldnt panic. Depending on where the dress is comming from and if they have to make it or fit it for you it will take that long. If you are having someone in your hometown fit the dress make sure you prepare them with your sizes beforehand so that when the dress does come in, all they need to do is work on it. Good luck

It will be fine. There's no reason to panic. It will probably be in earlier than that but even if it's not, that's plenty of time to get any altering done that needs to be done. So just relax and focus on the rest of the planning.

There is no sense in panicking, it's not going to help anything. Just make some very clear decisions about what you are going to do. Call some tailors and talk to them about how quickly they can do any necessary alterations given your timeline. See if you can go ahead and pencil in some time with one for that week so that, when the dress comes, it is their priority. Just start putting things in place and do what you can. I'm sure it will be fine.
