2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

This indicates that the Scripture, the word of God, is the breathing out of God. God's speaking is God's breathing out. Hence, His word is spirit (John 6:63), or breath. Thus, the Scripture is the embodiment of God as the Spirit. The Spirit is therefore the very essence, the substance, of the Scripture, just as phosphorus is the essential substance in matches. We must strike the Spirit of the Scripture with our spirit to catch the divine fire.
As the embodiment of God the Spirit, the Scripture (God's word) is also the embodiment of Christ. Christ is God's living Word (Rev. 19:13), and the Scripture is God's written word (Matt. 4:4).

These words were shared by a dear brother to all of us .. Witness Lee.. many years before he went to be with the Lord back in 92. I have truly benefitted from the words of encouragment and upliftment from this dear brother and from each one of you here. Ty. May we continue to take in the Words of Life that are the very breath of God to us.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The Word is Life to our souls, as well.

Wonderful point!
God bless you

For the word of God is a living and active and sharper than any two edged sword , and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Heb. 4:12

And this is why the Bible has been so attacked.
The enemy doesn't attack useless religion, but he sure gets all fired up when he's after the real deal. The words are alive, they bring life giving faith...faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the words of God.

When Paul wrote this, the new testament didn't exist, and he must have been referring to Jewish documents like the Talmud.

When was the last time you read the Talmud for teaching, conviction, correction or instruction?

Most Christians never do, and would reject the doctrine in it, because it doesn't support common Christian belief which are pagan in nature, even those supported by the WT.

Its actually kinda funny, when you think about it. Christians take a letter from Paul to Timothy, that claims that Jewish holy scripture is the word of God, then apply it to that letter, which goes on to claim that the Jewish scripture has been fulfilled and no longer applies.

Christianity is a hoot.

That is why we need the Holy Spirit indwelling within, transforming our heart and eyes for Him, for with it His revelations become transparent in His Word.

Good analysis sis ~ Your contributions always are edifying! I thank Jesus for you!

I am Catholic and, believe it or not, we agree with you. The verse you cited does not, however, say "reject everything not in scripture."

OK sola scriptura crowd, go ahead with the thumbs down.
