I've tied to update my Internet Explorer from 5.01 to a lter version, either 5.5 or 6. I don't believe the 5.5 version is available on the Microsoft website. I can'tuse the Windows Update feature because it's only available with IE 5.5 and above.

You don't say what system you have. Some computers won't run certain IE versions. It may e preventing you because it won't run on your computer. IE is PART of windows. If you go to the windows update site - it should find IE that applies to your version of windows.

you must have 98se for ie6. 5.5 should still be around, look for older software sites. i found 5.5 to be very stable.
