If your tubes are tied, that means the egg cannot come down the fallopian tube to be fertilized in the uterus, which normally would mean you couldn't get pregnant.
However, if you did IVF (in vitro fertilization) and the embryo was implanted in the uterus, you could get pregnant.
However, IVF is very expensive and not always successful, so the only reason you should get your tubes tied is if you are certain you NEVER want to have children.

Your playing a gamble of 25K or more. Is it worth the risk of money spent and lost and nothing to show for it?
In my opinion, absoultly not!
Your infertility is a choice, go back and have the tubes reversed.
And in answer to your question, it's a maybe. There is a strong chance you may not get pregnant you have a less then 20% chance of invetro taking. Plus all the medications and shots and dr's appointments.

If you think that you might want more kids, don't get your tubes tied. Let me REPEAT THAT. If you might want more kids, don't get your tubes tied.
Get an IUD. While not 100%, it's a better choice. Reversals aren't always successful, but reversals are more successful than every form of IVF. In addition, IVF won't be covered by your insurance, even if you have that coverage, because you were voluntarily sterilized.

yes I am sure you could if you used invitro----getting your "tubes tied" simply means that you are cutting off the pathway for the egg to descend into the uterus to be fertilized and implanted-----you aren't altering your uterus at all----HOWEVER-----that is an EXPENSIVE way to go about getting pregnant. I don't know your circumstance but why don't you just go on some less permanent method of birth control if you are thinking you may still one day want to become pregnant? Talk to your doctor!!!!

Why is it impossible if she's implanted?
If you implant a sperminated egg into the uterus, there is no requirement of the tube since they have been ligated.
My answer is YES, you can be implanted, but any travel through the tubes via normal insemination is impossible, although some cases of tubal pregnancies have been found, they are very rare.

You say "IF" you got your tubes tied. Does that mean you are thinking about it? Or have you already had them tied?
You can get pregnant by IVF (in-vetro fertilization) but it is expensive.
But if you are not sure about wanting more I would NOT get them tied.
Once they are tied, yes you can have them un-tied, however... This is important... Your chances of having an ectopic pregnancy (tubal pregnancy) are high.
I suffered from an ectopic pregnancy and my tubes were NOT tied. Very painful, physically and EMOTIONALLY.
So I would suggest NOT getting them tied unless you are positive you are done having babies.
Best of luck to you

You would have to do IVF. They would remove the eggs through laproscopic surgery and then fertilize them and transfer them back into your uterus, in order to bypass the tubes.
This is only possible if you still have your ovaries. You don't need a tubal reversal to do IVF, but some docs may suggest you get the tubal and then try on your own.
The IVF surgery and cycle is very expensive, so if you are thinking you may want more children, don't get your tubes tied and get a removeable IUD, like mirena. Then if you want kids in less than 5 year, they can remove it.

yes you can do IVF or you can have the tubal reversed. i had my tubal reversed (inadvertently) and have a fourth child that we didn't expect. i was young when my tubes were tied and they only banded them, no cut tie burn....had to have ovarian surgery a few years later and they cut just a small amount of the scar tissue caused by the banding and the little bugar slipped through.....but i couldn't be happier now!!!!
if you choose to go the IVF route, then the tubes are not even part of the process. good luck in whichever decision you make......
