they are both males? if so you cant. If one male and one female, you might be able to, both females, unlikely will last long. If ots two males, you can not or will not be able to stop it. The sooner you blink your eyes, the older they get, the older they get the more they fight .

This is a real common problem. You see people forget that dogs come from wolves so they have the tendency to still protect what is theirs. You have to look at yourself as the alpha of the pack. Because you are. Before you let him eat you pretend to eat some of the food. only the alpha eats first. then see if you can take his food away with out him being aggressive. If he acts aggressive you need to put him in his place. You do this by putting your dog on his back. it might be a wrestling match but do it. Hold him around his throat with you hand to simulate a dogs mouth on the throat. don't choke him. use the curve between you thumb and your pointer finger to place on his throat. that is the best way to insure that you are not choking him. when he has finally stopped moving and has become submissive then and only then do you let him up and you can give the food back to him after you pretend to eat it again. you can do the same thing with the toys. I have 5 dogs inside and i have to always stay in charge of the pack. you could also watch the dog whisper . I hope this helps

You most certainly can correct this whether male or female. Its easier to do if there is someone working with you. Practice someone taking the dog bowl or dish away and the other makes a correction with the dog on a leash everytime he shows aggression.

It's called resource guarding. You can Google the term to find information on it, or the book kittenslayer recommended is very good.

towards you or each other? If it's towards you, try petting them while they are eating. My boys used to bark at each other sometimes while eating but I made sure they knew that they were eating my food bc I am letting them. That sounds mean, but if I want to pull their food away they don't snap or growl at all. It's especially good to condition them to having their food messed with if you have children that may try to pet them while they are eating.
