I have soft sheets and a good mattress. Do you think I should have empty drawers or is table top space better? I'm using a navy blue comforter and white curtains. What color should I paint the walls?

I already have nice towels and any items they might have forgotten in the guest bathroom.

I'm not having guests for about 2 1/2 weeks.

Everyone is different, but for me personally, I like tabletop space better than empty drawers because I can put my duffel bag on top of the table and just get things out of there as needed. I would keep the walls white. When visiting relatives, all I really need is a little area to put my stuff and a clean bed - maybe a mirror, too.

Depends on how long they plan to be staying. If it's more than a weekend they should have drawer and closet space. Is there a lamp, picture or any other colored item in the room you could take the color from for your walls? The room is not meant for them to live in, so the TV isn't necessary. A chair might be nice but not a necessity. Soft sheets and a good mattress are the tops so you're already there.

Some shade of blue.

Things you should have in the room are:
A comfortable chair
Television
Luggage rack, it is the worst to only have the floor to open the luggage.
hanging space
one or two empty drawers in the dresser
mirror.
extra blanket, should they need more covers than you have on the bed
Extra pillows
Kleenex
Good lamps on each side of the bed.
A small desk, should they use a lap top, with a lamp.

In the bathroom, small (hotel size) shampoo, rinse, bar of soap, good towels, mat, wash cloths, extra toilet paper (under the sink) Kleenex, a magazine or two in the room and bathroom.

Check your shower head to make sure it works well. And all plumbing fixtures are working correctly.

We visited friends this summer and she had some chocolates in a candy jar at bed side. Very nice.

Yes, some empty drawer space. Is there a closet in the room?

Also some other things you might want to have handy...
*extra blanket and pillows
*alarm clock
*tissues
*possibly a few magazines (if you have any subscriptions, keep your old copies for them)
*stash several wash clothes plus a towel or two in the drawer
*maybe some inexpensive slippers/socks they can wear around the house so they're not in their shoes the whole time (they might not feel comfortable walking barefoot in your house)
*maybe a spare phone directory

1) a TV.
2) Empty drawers are nice, but not necessary.
3) Spare hangers in the closet, just in case they need to hang anything up.
4) Books & magazines, in case they like to read b4 going to sleep or if they wake up b4 everyone else & need a way to pass the time.
5) Alarm clock.
6) A coffee maker, filters & coffee in case they wake up b4 everyone else & don't want to make noise in the kitchen.
7) crackers or pretzels or fruit (see reason above).

I suggest painting it a very pale blue, like "Mountain Air" by Sherwin Williams. Very relaxing

I would paint a warm tan.

An empty drawer, a basket of things they may have forgot. Like female products, a mini mouth wash, wash cloth, mints, a hair tie, lotion, advil, etc.

A nice card on the bed: I am so happy you are staying with us! And a short n ote is also a nice touch. Perhaps a bottle of water on the nightstand in case they need it...

I like table top space better. Towels too. Hmmm.... the walls? Maybe a light blue or a peach or a light green? Maybe beige?

An extra blanket, a pitcher of water and a glass, a few magazines and a bedside lamp. Also, keep accesible electrical outlets open so your guest can charge cell phones, razors or whatnot.

Our guest bedroom includes a reclining chair to sit in, a tv and a telephone.

All of the suggestions are good, BUT read up.

DO NOT PAINT THE WALLS NOW. If they are coming over soon, the paint will smell and make their visit horrible!
