Contact immigration at least three months before your visa expires. Expect delays over the Christmas period. And if you have anymore questions about immigration - call immigration... Some people may give you wrong information on here that could cause you some problems.
You can phone CIC on 1 888 242‑2100. Their automated telephone service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have a touch-tone telephone, you can listen to pre-recorded information about Citizenship and Immigration programs, order application kits and check the status of your application.
If your original permit or visa was a piece of paper stapled into your passport, check the back of that paper for more information or check out http://www.cic.gc.ca/.

Apply for an extension at the Immigration Office but cite valid reasons.
