I worked in Toronto for 3-4 months this fall. Can anyone give me advice about how to file or what forms I need to fill out?

you get to file in both Canada and Ontario and the US and the state you live in here [if it has income taxes].

What a lucky duck you are!!

some of the Canadian taxes paid will be a credit against the US taxes that'll be calculated. In essence, you'll pay the higher of the two tax rates.

I believe that all the forms are online from IRS and Revenue Canada.

1. File your Canadian taxes. See how much you really paid in Canadian taxes. Don't forget to see if a tax treaty applies. (If you were an employee and made less than $10,000 the treaty should cover you and cause you to owe zero to Canada and would result in a refund.)
2. Convert the Canadian income into US dollars and put it on the same lines as US income.
3. Calculate your US tax bill.
4. If you *did* pay Canadian taxes (it they are refundable, they don't count), there is a convoluted form 1116 to give you a partial credit against your US taxes.
