I've heard the belief that when you get to Heaven you assume a new identity and your earthly relationships with family and friends no longer exist. Of course, that makes me ask, what's so great about heaven then? Why doesn't God just create robots to continuously praise him. Why does he require our praise? Is it because he has an inferiority complex?

From what i've learned, in heaven no one is supposed to recognize eachother because we are all brothers & sisters.
God wouldnt want us to make personal relationships, because he wants us all to love eachother the same.
I find that sad though because i would want to see my parents, siblings, and friends here on earth in heaven.
But who knows, there are many different theories.

I believe that we will still have "identity" in heaven. Our glorified bodies will have some resemblance to our earthly bodies. We won't just be spirit floating through the cosmos.

Well for those who have been born again and have accepted Jesus as their Savior they will be in Heaven...And yes we will know one another....The Bible says that we will be known as we were known....So....But for those that are in Hell, all their loved ones who Have made it to Heaven...Well all memory of the loved ones in Hell will be wiped from their (those that are in Heaven) memory....The Bible says that there will be no sorrow in Heaven...So if someone in Heaven knew that they had a loved one in hell wouldn't that bring sorrow to them?? I think so...
P.s. A comment to chippy up a few... well we will know one another...BUT..only those that have made it to Heaven...If we do have loved ones who went to hell then God will wipe their memory from our minds....

If they obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ, and when you die, if you also have obeyed His gospel, than there is definately going to be a reunion.
What is the gospel? Acts 2:38. (Not John 3:16, btw)
