Start feeeding your cat a canned food only diet and nothing with fish in it.
Your cat may be experiencing somethine they call FLUTD
It is a lower urinary tract problem. It looks like an infection but there may not really be any infection.
You need to have the cat checked for bladder stones and crystals they make special diets for this and if you feed those and only those it clears up many times.
But the cat may need the special diet for the rest of it's life.
There are not really any home remedies for this and adding a unrine acidifier to your cats diet may cause organ damage so that is not always the best option unless supervised by your vet.

Sorry, but I'm in a hurry and have copy/pasted an answer I gave someone else, re: a male cat w/urinary probs. awhile ago.
It may apply somewhat to your dilemma, I feel thru experience than lots of processed DRY cat foods are the problem for recurrent urninary tract irritation and infection.
I try to make sure ingredients contain DL Meth. and also low in ash/magn. when possible and try to give canned wet often to the cats that I have that will eat can. I also prefer to give chicken/turkey/fish/beef people cooked fds.
That is my preferance. I too, experienced a h e l l of a time with cats' pee probs. and this really either cured them or diminished greatly the bouts. [Baytril doesn't work for all, maybe vet can try an alternative'
Read below pls.:

This is going to be a totally different and possible answer. I've had a vast experience with cats. all critters in general (former vet worker and animal rescuer).
Pls. have them (urine) checked out by vet. Could be bladder/kidney stones, or infection. Cystitis, crystals, etc.
You had them fixed young when their private parts were not fully developed yet and passing tiny crystals would irritate area & give them the impulse or urgency to spurt/leave puddles. The kitties are both trying to tell you something! (too much of a coincidence that both are being "naughty" at same time span)
Also, another suggestion is to make sure ALL their dry foods contain DL Methionine in the ingredients which neutralizes any potential crystalizations (same component as in cranberry juice).
Had a recent case where a normally very clean cat did same thing, sudden peeing everywhere or in odd places BUT litter box. Ended up she had bladder stones, large ones, detected with ultrasound.
Anyways, hope this advice/suggestion helps.

I honestly can't think of any reliable home remedies. But there are foods formulated for cats with urinary tract problems. You might want to look into getting that for her.
And schedule some kind of deeper testing for your kitty, since the Baytril is not working.
I understand about being broke around Christmas. A lot of vets will too, so try to work out a payment plan.
Good luck!

If kitty has been on two rounds of antibiotics with no relief, it is time to do tests and get to the source of the problem. I agree with the person who said to be sure to have her kidneys checked. I had a kitty that was having recurring bladder infections and turned out to be her kidneys.
Unfortunately, there is no home remedy aside from making sure she eats and drinks well. But she probably doesn't feel like it.
I understand being broke and that is always when you have a kitty emergency. Check into Care Credit. It is a credit card just for medical expenses, including veterinary. My cats' routine expenses are in the budget, but my Care Credit has saved me many times for emergencies. You can see what vet offices take it in your area and apply online.
Hope kitty feels better soon.
Purrs to you and kitty.

I agree that it sounds like a urinary tract infection. By the color being "a little off," you mean orange or dark, right? THAT'S BLOOD!!!!!!! You need to take her to the vet NOW! A urinary tract infection can go septic in a matter of hours. Just because it didn't last time doesn't mean it won't this time. I myself have had this, and I can't even tell you how uncomfortable and painful it is! Poor kitty! Don't make her suffer any more!

Did the vet take xrays? She may have stones. Depending on the type of stones, a diet change can help. A cystotomy (surgery) would be necessary for other types. A urinalysis would determine which type of stones she has. Talk to them about a payment plan - maybe something can be arranged. Good luck!

If your cat gets blocked with crystals in her bladder she can die with 48 hours so that is a medical emergency and there are no "home remedies" for that.
Go to http://www.littlebigcat.com and read Dr. Jean Hovfe's article titled "Urinary Tract Disorders in Cats", "Why Cats Need Canned Food", etc.
You CAN change the diet to prevent future problems and your cat may have to be treated by a vet NOW if she cannot release her urine.

Sorry - but yes you do need the vet. If you're having financial woes, you may be able to ask the local humane society whether they will let you take your cat in to their vet.

It seems like that treatment may not be working for her-I had a kitty do that and found out she was in kidney failure and it was to late for her-also check for blood in her urine if you can..It sounds like she may need a test to rule out anything really bad with her...There is urinary track food if you want to try it also you can feed her..Hope you the best....

Unfortunately, there is no home rememdy or quick, inexpensive fix - your cat needs medical attention and there is no way around it.
