I went to a wedding and had a drink (punch) that was great.
it takes equal parts of
Pinapple juice
Hawaiian Punch
Ginger Ale
make a small amount and freeze in moulds
make just before serving or the fizz will go flat
float the frozen punch ice moulds and if you want some pinapple rings

You don't really need to create a new drink. Just play around with different kinds of alcohol and juice (colors that match your theme of course) and name it after something that means alot to you both or whatever ties in with the theme your doing.

you don't need to create a new drink...just play around with liquors and give it a funny name haha
depending on what you like and in which season you will be having your wedding....you can do a lot
spring/summer - sangria, caiprinhas, vodkas, martinis,
fall/winter - something w/ peppermint schnapps, irish creams, baileys

Talk to a bartender at your favorite bar. Use some aspect of your wedding (color, theme, etc)

You don't need to do anything new- just pick a drink and rename it. We had French martinis and we gave them a name that was related to our theme.
Good luck!
