Yes, I hate hypocrites.

I know YOU do all of those things but you don't try to tell me what is wrong with me! LOL

Even if you did try to tell me what is wrong with me, I might actually listen to you as I respect you. Unlike some I could mention.

Children are influenced by their elders and by their peers. It's a long battle until they are mature. What their peers do and promote seems exciting and what their parents tell them to do (or not do) makes life sound boring. For parents to openly do something which many see as bad IS hypocritical because it will make their children rebellious. If parents want to drink alcohol with their own children's knowledge that they do so it should be done in such a way that the children know this is only for adults and that it is done in moderation. Doing it to the point of intoxication would be ridiculous. Alcohol is as much of a drug as hard drugs and tobacco are, they just cause different reactions and different health issues. Some adult stuff should be kept for when the kids are in bed so that they don't even know their parents indulge. However, all kids will eventually make their own minds up about all these things and the more they see others doing these things e.g. other relatives, their friends' parents the more they will wish to try them. My parents neither drank alcohol nor smoked and I never had the desire to try either. However both of my brothers did both. There is no knowing how our children will turn out but we should set the best example we can during their formative years - which pass far too quickly and then their decision making is their own business.

Just because I have faults doesn't mean I can't accurately describe the faults of others.
