I keep having occasional pain in the right side of my chest close to my side. Im sure it's not heart related and yes I will call the doctor but in the mean time..... what could this be? It is a sharp pain that is sudden and goes away quickly. It does not hurt worse when I breathe.

i've had crushing chest pains and it turned out to be muscle spasms. some people get air pressure and tension induced headaches, i get chest aches. good grief.

it could be nothing major, so don't panic. just get to the doctor and find out.

lung, nerves, cracked ribs, broken razor piece of cholesterol plaque; etc. can cause sharp pain.

A tiny razor piece's horrible pain inside artery sometime can paralyze any movement of the body per each heart beat within seconds, and it appears at different spots around the chest from time to time. For lesser deep and sharp pain at constant location, use finger to check on ribs' pain spot.
