For the past three weeks or so, I have had a really painful heel. There is a pea sized, slightly red spot on the back and there is a hard area all around it which hurts when pushed.

It's not just hard skin - I have tried treatments for that - and I'd like to know what it is as it hurts! And if anyone knows, what can I do to help it?

I've looked up a few things, like plantar fasciitis, and it doesn't seem to have the right symptoms. Please help!

I had the same problem and what I did is go get some jelly shoe inserts that have a wedge for the heal
and the problem went away. My doctor recommended that.

Its quite likely you have fallen arches, flat feet. What happens is the arch drops, the is heel is forced into an unnatural position. The balance of the body is affected with pain in the hips, back and so forth.

Try arch supports and if that doesnt work see your Doctor. Also never wear poorly made shoes and check out a shoe maker online called MBT.

there isn't much you can do for the pain. i graduated from beauty school a few months ago and the first thing we learned about is how harmful and unsanitary the razors are for you. a good alternative is this little thing that looks like a cheese grater, it takes of callus' well without digging into the skin. i hope your feet feel better soon!
