It depends on the vet. You can have individual cremation (which is more expensive) and get the ashes returned to you- about $100-$200.
OR you can have group cremation and not have the ashes returned to you- about $40-$90.
You can also just bury the dog yourself, if you have the space. It is all a matter of personal preference.

Depends on what you are looking for. Up where I am, a cremation and getting the ashes back runs between $80 and $150, depending on the size of the dog, plus the cost of an urn. I would only cremate if you wish to have the ashes back, or want him to be somewhere other than your backyard. Burying him is the cheaper option, of course, but if he died of something contagious like Parvo, the body could spread the disease.
It is really a personal choice and I wish you the best with your grieving.

I am so sorry if you just lost your beloved dog. My St. Bernard died this past August, and the Vet took care of the cremation. In all, it was about $300.00 (that included putting the dog asleep and x-rays), but I had the option of my dog to be cremated by himself. It would have cost less if I decided to have him cremated with other dogs. I purchased a beautiful wooden urn from www.paws2heaven.com and placed him in there. If I would have buried him, it would have cost a pretty penny.
Hope this help :)

It doesn't cost much to cremate. The price is usually per pound. I found this out when the vet arranged to cremate my cat because we had nowhere to bury her.
If you want to bury your dog, make sure to dig deep and cover the body with a lot of lime.

A private cremation with ashes returned to you in a urn is between $150-$200.
Group cremation (ashes not returned) $30-$50
Or you can bury them.

You can also go ask at your local animal control shelter. Sometimes they offer cremation cheaper than the vet, but still individual, so that you know you are getting ashes back from your pet.
Check with local zoning ordinances before using your backyard to bury your pet.
