It may be more effective to show that it was a good choice to let you in by doing all the work and paying attention and not slacking in the class

This happened to me once. I just said thank you and expressed my appreciation for letting me on. I don't see the point of a thank you note-it could be seen as trying to gain favoritism.

A short note wouldnt hurt but i wouldnt put any smiley faces or hearts
