I believe there is some sort of higher power out there. Now, how much influence he has on our lives here--I don't know. Is there a heaven and a hell? I dont know. No one really knows for sure. I've heard claims from very logical and rational people that they have had an experience that tells them God exists, but I haven't been "blessed" with the experience yet. But I do believe that a higher power could have directed our creation. I don't believe that a God just created the earth and humans out of magical powers. It happened through evolution. Could it have happened on its own? Certainly, but I choose to believe theres a higher power until someone can prove otherwise.

if you want to know God , you should notice the following qualities , in one ,

The God. The only one Almighty. He alone is worthy of worship.

The Originator. He who creates all creatures initially without matter or model.

The Just. He who is Equitable.

The Enricher. The Sufficer.

The Last.

The Guardian. He who watches over and protects all things. (Helper in Peril)

The personality of GOD ,

"1. Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

3. He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

4. And there is none like unto Him. "

Powers of God may be noticed ,

Allah. There is no god but He,

-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal.

No slumber can seize Him nor sleep.

His are all things in the heavens and on earth.

Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitted?

He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them.

Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth.

His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth,

and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them

for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

THERE IS A LOT SOME TO THINK , FOR THOSE WHO USE THEIR BRAINS.

Vanessa,
I do believe in GOD and I believe that being a CHristian is very important in my life. Have a wonderful Holiday with your friends and family. If you are able to do so, visit a nursing facility and sing with the residents once every month. I have done so with a small group from our church every month for several years and it is the greatest thing that anyone can do to help serve others. It is NOT Necessary to preach to them or at them. We generally sing and pray with them. We also visit before we leave and let them know that we will be returning next month.
Thanks,
Eds

If that's true, why are there so many crippled and blind people around? Oh, maybe they just couldn't read the directions to get to god's healing touch? Or he doesn't have wheelchair access?

No I absolutely do not. If you are so in touch with the all knowing all powerful lie. Why don't you ask it to feed the staving in the world. Really anything useful would be appriciated.

No.

Do you have any proof that those events actually happened and were not created by oral tradition?

He does miracles? Present tense. What was the last miracle he performed?
