Im british, and ive never heard of it before... is their like a british name for it?

mono is short for mononucleosis, sometimes called "the kissing disease".

most people get it in their teens or early 20's. It is a virus that is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus and passed through kissing or eating or drinking from the same utensils or sharing toothbrushes with an infected person. (virus is spread through saliva and mucus)

It leaves you feeling tired and weak for any where from several weeks to several months. It goes away on it's own with rest and taking care of yourself.

I know there was a study awhile back looking at a link between Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and mono, but I don't know what became of it.

I don't think so. But mono is short for something, I think its shorit for monosogalis or something like that. Its a sicknes.
