I saw a documentary about Mozart a few months back, and there was a woman in the movie who claimed to be the reincarnation of him. I can't remember what it's called, it might have been Searching for Mozart or something like that...I suppose there's no way to be 100% sure that she really is, though.

I've seen a few shows on reincarnation where the subject, sometimes a young child, subconsciously 'remembers' a traumatic event that happened to them while they were some Joe Shmoe in an army. One kid in Africa was no one in particular who had stepped on a land mine. So, there are people who believe they've had past lives of normal people
I don't know that I'd say I'm a 'dyed in the wool' believer since I don't have any personal experience but I haven't heard compelling evidence against it.

It depends: are you presupposing Karma? Absent Karma, I would say it would be impossible to tell. Assuming Karma, I would probably say:
1. a starving child in Darfur
2. See 1 (above)
3. Not much historical evidence of her personal qualities
4. a small business owner in a Western country

Funny thing about reincarnation stories are that everyone who talks about their former lives, they were someone famous or important like the charcters above, never just a janitor, farmer, house wife, piss boy servant girl, lunch...
