We know many of the answers.
We're interested in the topics.
We've made friends there.
And of course... when we try to discuss our theological perspectives in the "Cats" section, they tell us to scram.

Because they come under the most fire from the religious. Besides, it's not like there's a "lack of relgion and spirituality" section. I am an atheist, but I consider myself spiritual as well. I recognize that there are things greater than what I can rationally explain, such as love. However, this is not, in my opinion, specific varificaiton of the existance of any God.
Consider this, the ancient Greeks believed in Zeus just as fervantly as today's religious people believe in their God. The "proof" that they used to justify God was the same for them as it is for you.

If I am not beautiful or stylish, do I have to stay out of beauty and style? If I'm not an entertainer or musician, do I have to stay out of entertainment and music? If I have no family or relationship, do I have to stay out of there, too? I am not a politician nor in government. Must I stay out of that section?
My point, if you're not getting it, is that Yahoo!Answers is a forum for the free exchange of ideas between people. It is nobody's exclusive territory. If the ideas of atheists, agnostics, pagans, wiccans or witches, or anyone else who doesn't hold your precise belief are too threatening to you, then I suggest you take sanctuary in the church or mosque or temple or synagogue of your choice and stay there. Your beliefs are obviously too fragile for this forum. Now, STFU!

Because this isn't the " freaks only" section.
Normal and rational people have a right to discuss religion and/or spirituality here, you know.

because the lack of belief in religion STILL has to do with religion, we're here to give balance to the believers' side of the equation, not necessarily to try to get you to abandon your religion, but to emphasize various points and discrepancies of your doctrines and give alternate perspectives of your teachings, I apologize if it offends you personally, but you'll find many Atheists are actually quite knowledgeable on the subjects discussed

Because spirituality doesn't know any boundaries of labels.
Also somebody needs to try to make you religious people think once in a while.

JK....
We are all here for different reasons, I am here to try and help religious people understand that their arguments over doctrine and fighting with one another over different flavors of God's they have no evidence for is dangerous for mankind.
I do this because I find it interesting to learn more about humanity, and religion is a great window into motivation. I also do it because I have kids and don't want them to be hurt by religion, like millions of people throughout history.
