I have to get a root canal on tooth 13. I was wondering does it hurt more on that tooth than the rest? How bad was your tooth before got root canal?

No, it only hurts on tooth #12.

The actual procedure doesn't hurt...you do hear your tooth being filed down, o if you want you can bring an ipod or mp3 player, if the noise bothers you.
For the next couple of days the area is going to be a little tender. It maybe best to stick to soft foods like soup, yogurt, apple sauce. Brush very lightly and gargle with warm salt water.
I personally think the pain is tolerable, nothing Advil can't cure. For me I was experiencing more pain BEFORE the root canal.

root canals hurt period! But you won't feel a thing during the procedure, only after.

NO MATTER WHICH TOOTH IT IS, YOU WILL BE GIVEN ANESTHETIC FOR IT SO YOU WON'T FEEL ANY PAIN.
