I live in an extremely dry climate and am finding that nothing I do seems to help. I run my humidifier constantly but am always in need of lotion. My hair has become dry and brittle. Help!!!

drink lots and lots of water so you dont get dehydrated. you will feel less "dry" when you have a liquid in you ;)

The most effective thing you can do is to increase the amount of fluids. You may be slightly dehydrated all the time. Other things that might help are avoiding soaps, and using cleansing bars like Dove or Nutrogena; and taking a vitamin E supplement. These symptoms can also be warning signs of a thyroid imbalance - which is fairly common.

Many creams and lotions are also available at the pharmacy to effectively hydrate the skin, and most work by sealing in moisture

Good Luck and try not to take hot showers or baths
