My boyfriend talks about future with me (marriage life, house and kids), but he told his mom, he won't be married anytime soon, and the house he is going to buy is for his single life. What does it mean?

Will it be hurting if I ask him directly about this question? Because I am afraid it will sound like I don't trust him.

It's simple that some guys are afraid of commitment, w/ women we are usually prone to wanting the settled down life longterm husband, family. Women might be more apt to rush into things quicker than guys because may get led by our emotions alittle more. I have a guy that has done the same thing and we have been together for 2yrs living together for the last 6 months. His mother is starting to see through it and call me her daughter in law. My advice is to wait it out, and only time will tell if it was meant to be, don't put to much pressure on him because it may scare him off. Especially if he does have phobia. People in general sometimes just tell us what we want to hear just to avoid hurting someone, or long explanation. You really don't need to rush anything because you want to know for sure who your marrying, because it's alot cheaper for wedding than it is a divorce. (from experience) If you do talk to him about your relationship and where it is going make sure you use the term us, rather than me or you, and I feel .Showing looking at perspective of the two of you rather than apart on your own.

Communication is everything in a relationship. You should just ask him. Just because someone doesn't want to be married soon, doesn't mean they don't love you, aren't committed to you, and don't plan to have a future with you. That the key word here...."Future"...you should be thankful you're in it! Right now he's probably just trying to live his life and enjoy it, and doesn't really want, nor ready for, all that commitment yet. Take it easy, have some confidence in yourself and your relationship...it will survive time if it's meant to be.

Ask him. People often tell people what is most convenient to say at the moment. Maybe his mom doesn't him to marry soon. Maybe you want to marry him soon. Maybe he hasn't made up his mind what he wants to do. I think men often talk off the top of their heads without thinking , and women take them seriously.

I'd ask. If he has the nerve to talk that way with you, you do have the rioght to discuss YOU 2 also.

yeah...you know what? sometimes my mom gets a slightly different interpretation of my plans....i wouldn't worry too much about it...but if its really bothering you, talk to him kindly and tell him that you are concerned about what he told his mom...rather than saying something accusatory like "you lied to me"
