My cat, Bear, he is very emotional and I think a little crazy in the head. A couple of times while I was lying on my bed and he was right beside me. He all of a sudden just up and ran so fast out of the room. I was not moving and he was sound asleep.

Another time he was sound alseep and he just kind of meowed real loud.

Anyone have any similar experinces with there pets? He worries me...

Yes, pets can have awful nightmares. One of ours would wake up with a scream, stand there disoriented, then sit down again and try to go back to sleep.

One of our former outdoor strays would get bad dreams, twitching his legs differently while sleeping and starting to make whiffle noises with his cheeks and lips. I have to slowly wake him up by petting, so he won't wake up afraid.

They dream, and they can have really bad ones occasionally.

This might sound crazy but maybe you have ghosts! I lived in a house that was built in the mid 1800's and never believed in ghosts until I lived there. I would hear things, see things, etc. Even when I didn't hear or see anythign though, my dog did. He would do the same thing you're describing, be sound asleep and then just jump up and run away- he barked at things that weren't there too. I suppose, also, your cat could just be having a bad dream.

Cats have much better hearing than us, and can hear sounds that we can't. Just like most of them can hear their dinner being served even if they are not in the same room.

Because they spend a lot of time during the day sleeping, most of it is just cat-napping, so they are not always as sound asleep as we think they are. It's part of their survival instinct to always be on the alert.

I easily have a canine and its undesirable to try this to a canine think of roughly it, in case you have been dreaming something undesirable and you have been scared (in the dream) and somebody tries to wake you places their hand on you and nudges you. they might freak you in and out this 2nd of outrage you may hit them. merely like a canine would chew you.
