I'm about to graduate and would like to work and live in the US. I've been here for years now. Someone told me it's almost impossible to get a greencard or even a visa if you're not in the NAFTA. Is this true?

Answer: Yes! In 1965 LBJ and Ted Kennedy, successfully undid all of Ike's good work in reducing illegal immigrants, and drastically changed the INS quotas to restrict European participation in favor the America's Hispanic populations.

Historically, immigrant visas were controlled with quotas. So applicants from countries with a large number of pending applications (Mexico, China) always had more trouble than those from smaller countries (Iceland, New Zealand).

It's not something you can control easily. I wouldn't suggest becoming an Icelandic citizen just so you could get faster processing.

I suspect a large number of Mexicans obtain residency because the petitions begin from a large pool of petitioners. Thus the number of Icelandic legal residents is fairly small, so if they all file a petition to immigrate their family, it's a drop in the immigration bucket compared to the Mexicans who file applications to immigrate *their* families.

Easier? No. More common? Yes.

You think so?

Could it be that the European government does not want its citizen to move to the US? The government wants its people to work and live in Europe and make Europe as big and (perhaps) more powerful than the US.

For a Caucasian European, blending in with the rest of the Caucasians in the US is much easier----and you get less hassle than people from different races would have to face.

I heard the opposite. Most immigrants in the US is now Mexicans, but I heard, that they mostly let in those who have family here. What I heard is mostly rumours though.

Illegal Immigrants Poem

I cross ocean,
poor and broke,
Take bus,

see employment folk.

Nice man treat me
good in there,
Say I need to
see welfare.

Welfare say,
"You come no more,
We send cash
right to your door."

Welfare checks,
they make you wealthy,
NHS it keep
you healthy!

By and by,
I got plenty money,
Thanks to you,
British dummy.

Write to friends
in motherland,
Tell them 'come
fast as you can.'

They come in turbans
and Ford trucks,
I buy big house
with welfare bucks

They come here,
we live together,
More welfare checks,
it gets better!

Fourteen families,
they moving in,
But neighbour's patience wearing thin.

Finally, white guy
moves away,
Now I buy his house,
and then I say,

"Find more aliens
for house to rent."
And in the yard
I put a tent.

Send for family
they just trash,
But they, too,
draw the welfare cash!

Everything is
very good,
And soon we
own the neighbourhood.

We have hobby
it's called breeding,
Welfare pay
for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist?
Wife need pills?
We get free!
We got no bills!

Britain crazy!
He pay all year,
To keep welfare
running here.

We think U.K.
darn good place!
Too darn good for
the white man race.

It is geared towards third worlders more than the first world immigrants that we would prefer.
