Yes we descended from apes according to evolution "theory", and yes they have carnal nature for sure as most of animals. Jesus came to save apes?! well yes if he believed that they are our ancestors.
Edit: for those saying that we share same ancestor but we didn't descend from apes! How can you explain it?! We have same ancestor and descended from another or what?!
We have same ancestor it means we descended from that ancestor, and apes are our brothers, so we descended from apes and stop being so stuck to ineffective arguments and terms.
Edit: tanzer360, for Apes' sake, what is the name of this common ancestor? what did we evolve from according to evolution theory? Just be concise and don't just say we share common ancestor!

I don't buy into evolution, but carnal nature is not a valid proof it is not true. It is impossible to prove or disprove, just like God's existance, unless you assume it to be true and accept any scrap of "proof" as confirmation.
To answer your question, "do apes have a carnal nature also", sadly yes. Babies don't have to be taught how to lie, and apes don't have to be taught how to sin.
Jane Goodall was so surprised so see primate genocide that she would not report it until it happene again.
Oddly, as it is with humans, it was the males who did the murders of other herds of their own species, presumably to get their food (or females). So "guns don't kill" testosterone does.
Yes, primates DO have a carnal nature.
But "Jesus died for all mankind"; NOT our monkey "uncles"!

According to some/most Judeo-Christian religions animals do not have souls. From that perspective, if something has no soul, can it sin?
Personally, I disagree. Every animal I have ever had contact with has a distinct personality and capacity for learning. Where does that come from but the soul? However, I believe that animal souls are like that of a child. Because they can't discern what we see as right from wrong, there is no sin.

Lol. Easily disputed with the Bible Ecclesiastes 7:29. . God hath made man upright. . .
I like how the theory of evolution dispenses morals altogether. Actually, I just like how the evolution theory's motivation is exposed for what it is: An excuse to be either amoral or humanistic in your morals (which is just moral relativism anyway, because it's entirely subjective) So they say.

I assume you mean "If we share a common ancestor to apes". But yes, as far as I know, there are several species that have carnal knowledge. According to Jesus, he was only interested in talking to and about humans.

Apes are simalar sexual natures to thier biological relatives
, man, they masturbate & have sex for pleasure so they are
very similar to humans who are not Christians as they only
have sex to reproduce, like most lower forms of life, & they
haven't got a clue what fun is

My sister used to work at London zoo in the higher primates enclosures. They had names for all their gorillas, chimps etc etc.
One of them was called spunk-leg because of his habitual self-relief. Apparently women wearing purple set him off every time.
So not only are they carnal, they are also kinky.

The common misconception about evolution is that modern humans followed after apes. The evolutionary evidence shows human and apes had a common ancestor that goes back a few million years. Modern humans and modern apes followed their own independent evolutionary track since that common ancestor. Thus, there are many similarities as well as many differences between the two species.

I've always wondered exactly the same thing... Animals sin too, don't they? Don't they have free will? Which of the 0.06% (or whatnot) of the genes unique to us enables us to have eternal life?

1 god, jesus (at least the one in the bible) did not and do not exist.
2 we are not descended from apes - we are descended from ape like creatures - a species which no longer exists.
