Quick poll: What is your religion and do you have any idea what I am talking about or why I would be so happy that there will be no official congressional holiday/recess?

Sorry rev. Albert, this has nothing to do with Christmas.
Also FYI only the states have the power to recognize "Christmas" as a observed holiday...not the federal gov.

Awesome! The president will need Congress's approval to make appointments. That'll save some trouble.

I don't believe anyone disagrees with the fact that all religions have had an impact, albeit a negative impact for the most part. And who cares if some old fuddy-duddies decided to call it chrsitmas....it still doesn't make religion true. It's just another verse in fundies rewriting United States history.

i haven't read the news today but i know the Congress was considering staying open during Christmas so GW couldn't sneak appoint any of his cronies into office.

Last week Congress voted 379 to 9 to recognize Christmas ..and the fundamental impact Christianity has had on America and around the world.
