Becoming a VEGETARIAN (as opposed to a vagetarian, who just performs oral sex all day) was the best thing I ever did for my health and the way I feel. It is absolutely the way to live and vegetarians live, on average, 7 years longer than meat eaters. BUT - you have to make sure you get things like soy and beans for protein.

You can also consider what you're doing for the planet, for animal rights and sensible farming.

Well that depends on whether you eat a healthy diet or not. I encounter lots of people who claim to be vegetarian but really their eating is disordered by that I mean that they don't eat meat but they don't eat vegetables and fruit either and subsist mainly on refined carbohydrates and cheese. A vegetarian diet with masses of vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, pulses, whole grains and good fats is very healthy. Of course is you are in fact a vagetarian then I have no idea what the nutritional content is and couldn't comment on whether its healthy or not - I suppose it would depend on the quality of the vag.

Being a health conscious vegetarian is very healthy. As long as a lot of fresh and raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains are a big part of that. Some vegetarians also eat a small amount of ocean fresh white fish because of the healthy omega 3 oils that help boost the immune system, and vegans who eat no meat or dairy at all, take the supplements. The most important thing to remember in any diet is balance. We all need up to 5 servings of fresh fruit and 3 servings of vegetables daily to provide us with critical toxin cleansing nutirents. And if you don't eat meat, you absolutely need to eat beans and lentils for your protein. A soup I eat every day from the Sacred Heart Diet that doctors put patients on to lose weight quickly for surgeries is awesome...

2 cans no fat beef broth
1 whole large pack of carrots
1 whole large pack of celery
2 bell peppers
2 cans or frozen green beans
1-2 large cans of stewed tomatoes
1 packet of Lipton's chicken noodle soup mix

Curry powder, paprika, Mrs. Dash and a pince of garlic salt and fresh minced garlic and bullion cubes allowed...add water and cooked until veggies are tender. This lasts me for three days and that with the grains, salads, fruits and brown rice make me feel so good and have so much energy! I also make it a point to never eat fried or white foods. I don't drink soda, prefering the healthier water and green teas.

So yes! Vegetarian is definately healthy!

You need to look up info on complete proteins which you need everyday (alternatives to meat, some examples are hummus and pita, peanut butter sandwich, but complete proteins are specific combinations of foods.) You also need to make sure you're getting B12 (vitamin), either a supplement, or fortified in cereal or some grain product, its only found in meat otherwise...

And as long as you get enough calories, balance, 5-6food groups (not too much or little in one category a day), exercise, etc, you should be ok...

I'm with KK and Martyo30, I about fell out of my chair. VAGetarian, you can eat it all day long, but I don't think it'll sustain life. But I could be wrong because I'm the same as Marty....hehehehehe.

It depends on if you are doing it properly. If you are eating candy and french fries, no. If you have researched the subject and are getting all of the nutrients your body needs from a variety of vegetarian foods, absolutely. Hey I'm proud of myself! 33 and my mind isn't in the gutter anymore, I actually answered your question respectfully! Whooppee!

If your not sure and haven't done the proper research then you shouldn't be doing it.

It is a very healty lifestyle, but you have to study the topic and know what you are doing. If you don't you may not be getting all of the nutrients that you need.

cheers.

If you're writing this how I'm thinking you intended to write it, then I'm laughing. If you misspelled, then my mind is SERIOUSLY in the gutter.
