Heaven, Hell, on Earth, I mean honestly......

What if your loved ones were in the opposite place?

Maybe it is a good thing that we eventually perish and go from world to world.........

Yes, eternity has always sounded boring to me. Even kind of depressing. Now eternal sleep...that might be alright.

Heaven in some ways has got bad press, especially with the common misunderstanding of Heaven is that in Heaven we are going to be singing praises forever and ever, playing harps and all that.

That leaves out a lot of the simple pleasures we take so much joy in. For instance, like the joy of a baby, or the pleasure of drying our clothes in the warm sunlight, or the satisfaction of a job well done, or just simply enjoying a good book or a newspaper in the morning. Paul said now we see "through a glass darkly," a poor reflection in a dim mirror. But some day this dark glass will be removed and we will be able to see clearly and be able to enjoy the real meaning of being a human being created in the image of God. The point is when the dark glass is removed, the view of Heaven is not going to change. It is going to become clearer. When that happens, I believe the things that give us pleasure in this world will make much more sense and give a whole lot more pleasure. No ... Definitely NOT boring!

As you, your soul, rises in vibrancy, so too do your abilities for joy, wonder, mindfulness, and the like.

That's why the "first heaven" mentioned in the Bible is like training wheels...people are still progressing.

Try reading "Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton, and "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, for some contemporary seers' insights into the progression.

Colton's "Men in White Apparel" is also good, and deals specifically with the afterlife process; Helen Greave's "Testimony of Light," likewise.

C. S. Lewis does a good intuitive job of describing characters' developments in his novella "The Great Divorce," which is about going to heaven.

My eternity will be spent on the fairest of all fairways. At least that's the fairy tale I choose to believe!

Intolerable. The only acceptable way to spend eternity is complete oblivion, which is what awaits all of us anyway.

Yeah, but I wouldn't mind a few hundred years in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' locker room.

I especially wouldn't want to spend eternity as myself!

Jesus told the thief on the cross that "today you will be in paradise". That sounds like a good place to be.
