What areas or how close does it have to be to be considered an invasion of personal space? I feel really uncomfortable when someone puts their hand on my shoulder or knee and if you are so close "kissing distance" of my face when speaking to me then it makes me want to scream: "CAN I GET ME, ME BACK!" Lol :)

I totally relate! If it's not someone I know quite well, I really, really do not appreciate being touched by them or having them stand close enough to steal the gum from my mouth. An article about proxemics and U.S. culture says that "personal distance, which is the space between colleagues during a normal conversation, is usually about 20 to 36 inches. If the person is not well known to us,we will stand from 2 to 4 feet away during a conversation."

The size of personal space varies from one culture to another and from one person to another, but if you're uncomfortable when people get too close, or touch you, just step back if it's possible. If the other person doesn't get the point, you might sniffle as if you're catching cold or turn your head so that he's talking into your ear instead of your face. I sympathize with you, but remember that the other person may feel uncomfortable trying to communicate with you over what he or she perceives as a wide distance!

I always think arms length is your personal space. I can't stand those people who invade your personal space. Get in your face kind of people. If someone gets that close to your face just say is there something on my face? If they so no Why? Just reply well you were so close I thought you were looking for something. They will get the hint. Or say this is my space (arms outstretched) this is your space.(pointing to their space).
