a friend just gave them to me and she said that she gave them chicken food and noodles but i am not shure if she gave them laying food are not but i have chickens of my on and they are laying and she got hers befor me?

where do you live? if in the norther hemisphere... and it's cold and the days are short... there's probably not enough light to make them lay. They will start laying again during spring.

Are you sure they are hens?
Most all will lay well before 8 months old.
Some do not lay as well in the very cold months but they will usually lay a few eggs.
Even if you are not feeding a laying feed they should be laying eggs. Egg feed has more calcium in it for harder egg shells but even if they are not fed and allowed to scavange for food most are still laying by 8 months.

Are you sure they're hens?
Chickens will stop laying naturally in the winter months unless steps are taken to "fool" them, by providing them extra light in their coop (they need at least 14 hours of daylight to keep laying). Sometimes, it's simply too cold to lay and they won't.
