I just want to go online and get a guesstimate of how much of a refund will be this year? I only worked a portion of the year this year, so I don't know if that will put me in a lower tax bracket and I will get more back or I will get less back because I paid in less?

I grossed $60,945 and I paid $10,428 in federal taxes. I am single, no deductions. I would just use a 1040 form. Thanks

I did a pro forma calculation on my 07 tax software and with you being single, no kids, and take the standard your refund is 960. But keep in mind saver credits, IRA deductions, 401k deduction, etc all these will increse your Federal refund. Yor friendly neighborhood tax accountant.

Thanx

With a simple situation like yours, you can download the 2007 Form 1040, read the instructions on line, and fill out the form with the information you have. Take the standard deduction and claim your one exemption. You should be able to get a pretty accurate picture of your tax liability, refund, or payment due.
