Canada has been offering doctors from Africa jobs after they graduate from their studies in large numbers recently. Do you think that's wrong?

I am from South Africa and I have a few friends that have immigrated to Canada and other countries. The Doctors are compensated much better for their services in Canada than in their own country. Let's just say other countries offer a better life for them. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. If the country that you live in does not make it worth your while, go after greener pastures!

It's a free world. If Canada needs doctors, I think it's fair of Canada to make offers to doctors to come to Canada.
It is then up to those African doctors whether they want to stay in their countries and be helpful there, which is the noble option that I would expect a doctor to choose (given the whole Hippocratic Oath deal), or move to Whiteyland and get paid better, which is the greedy selfish option.

If your a doctor in Africa you are basically volunteering, aka not making a salary.

Well, they need doctors that are willing to work for the low pay the government run health care program pays.

Offering a job to a doctor is not "theft".

Perhaps, but they get what they pay for. I've seen doctors from third world nations, and most of them aren't the cream of the crop.

How is it wrong?

The graduates make their own choice - work in Canada or in their own country.

No-one forces them to stay.

I think it is indicative of socialized medicine and so yes, it's wrong.
