Yes, it scheduled to be retired,after 47 year of service since it's commissioning, when the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77) enters service in 2008.
It's forward deployed post in Japan will be taken by USS George Washington (CVN-73) also in 2008.

YES it is, and it is still providing a valuable service to our country until the next carrier arrives to relieve it.
