Definitely, until that belief causes people to hurt others or take away their freedom.

Then the belief should be seriously questioned, not forbidden, but the actions should be stomped out.

The Jones Town followers had every right to believe that Jim Jones was a prophet, but as soon as he started taking them to the middle of nowhere, we should have been more aggressive in questioning him. As a result of our acceptance of his religion, hundreds of people died.

The same applies to any religion that condones violence.

Sure as long as no one else gets punished for not believing the same and as long as the government doesn't enforce religious 'laws' or try to run the country based on the fact that 'God speaks to them'.

They are in no way entitled to make those beliefs into laws however.

I completely agree.

I go on to think that whatever God there is will have mercy on you, no matter what religion you are, if you treat your fellow man with love and respect.

I think the Sermon on the Mount is a good moral code no matter what religion you belong to.

Yes, as long as they keep them to themselves and don't try to force those beliefs on others.

Please note, this only means I respect their RIGHT to a belief, it does not mean i have to respect the belief itself.
