Yes.
The bible mentions several persons who lives for hundreds of years. True Christians (such as Jehovah's Witnesses) believe that the bible is accurate.

This is an impossible question to answer.
Before the flood, if it existed, written language didn't exist, so there is no way for us to calculate age. Logically, people must have had a way to measure age, but we'll never know what it was because there is no written record of it. What would a year mean to someone who doesn't know what an hour is?
Perhaps they counted by the seasons - everytime it grew cold (what we would call winter) would be a year to them, but that is only theorical.
Lastly, if we haven't figured out today how to live to 969, I doubt that anyone lived that way before the advances of modern medicine.

The people before the flood did live to be upwards of 900 years old. Jehovah cut the days of humans short after Adam and Eve sinned against him. At that time they were still close to perfection. Their bodies didn't grow old as fast as ours do today. Now that centuries and centuries have passed since that time, our days are extremely short being only 70 or 80, or even shorter.

no. the Jewish calender originally used phases of the moon to calculate time. as a matter of fact, the oldest calenders in the world do the same.
969 lunar cycles (about 12 annually) would be about 80 solar years. yes, that would have been very old for the time period...but it is foolish to believe that humans could live 969 solar YEARS, especially when there are very good reasons that rationally explain this calculation.

Of course they measured time. They often measured time by winters, etc.
the creative days can be anything. The thing that is overlooked is the length of time spent in Eden before the fall. That time is totally hidden in the Bible. We know it was not a day or two after they were placed there.

People were healthier then and God said he shortened the length of time humans get to live. We are in a judgement period. And if someone is bad for 100 years chances are he will be bad for 1000 years. So why give him so long to be bad? This is a time of testing. They were in a time of testing and they flunked.

What planet are you talking about? Nothing remotely like this has happened on Earth.
People, essentially identical to us, have been around on Earth for at least 100,000 years. According to the Bible, God stopped the suffering about 2000 years ago, so that means God let his creation suffer for at least 98,000 years. For many people, the suffering continues, exactly as if He didn't exist at all.

I've heard of the "vapor canopy" theory, where most of the earth's water was suspended as clouds high above the atmosphere. This had the effect of filtering most or all of the UV rays that cause aging of the skin. This also caused the entire earth to be one uniform temperature.
After the great flood, supposedly caused by the breakdown of the vapor canopy, much more UV rays reached the earth's surface. And people's lifespans became much shorter, as what we would expect them to be today..
Whether this is true, idk.

yes they were because they aged slower than us know a day. Since the sin in the world multiplied then the age kept going down until now. If we would not sin we would live forever. The sin in this world has cut our life range.

dont be silly , a year is stil a year except in those days their were only 360 days to a year , why/? simply we use a solar calander which is wrong the biblical account of creation is that night time comes first and the nthe day,, for darkness cmae before the light ,, read in genesis Alyssa --------1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. ;; ok at crteations moment here no light at all.,, -- continung using bible gateway ,,Genesis 1 (New King James Version------And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Footnotes : now Alyssa do you see what i see in thewse scriptures?? i see a definate period of time here , a evening and a morning talked about .. do u see it too?? . I ONLY COPY THE WHOLE 6 DAY EVENT alyssa so u can see clearly just what is meant the same account of creation is identical for every literal day of creation. ,THEIR IS A DEFINATE TIME MENTIONED , - A NIGHT TIME AND THEN A MORNING >> DO WE NOT TODAY STILL have both then?
can we reason then that its the same then as it is now??
'
I am not here trying to belittle you either , I only want to direct your mind to see that even though with GOD THEIR IS NO TIME HE did set up time for mankind , GOD IS IMMORTAL ALYSSA SO HE HIMSELF IS NOT AFFECTED BY TIME MEANING i,ooo years is as if a day ,, not that it is so literally either , ,. it just doesnt matter . have i helped you here??
adam was so awesomely created it took a long time for him and his decendants to wear out their bodies,, the further away we are from creation the sooner we wear out our bodies because of sin. ,AFTER THE FLOOD THE SPAN of mans lifetime grew rapidly less and less possibly because they added meat - dead animals to their diet and the more sinful man became .. it was not abad question either , in christ, bro murray
