Not meaning to be blasphemous, but what big things would you do or change IF you were God? I would love to hear answers from non-believers as well. I was going to limit this to "serious answers only", but I realized that God has a great sense of humor, so think big. Be funny, be serious, be creative. Absolutely nothing is off limits. What would you do? If you could give a reason why, then explain. The only thing I would ask is to please be respectful. This is in fun, but can be serious also. Just no meanness.
The last thing I would love to know is are you a Believer or not? I thought that this question could possibly generate some really interesting answers, if enough people will answer.
By the way, if I were God (and as a Believer), one of the things I would do would be to let animals talk so that we would finally know what they are thinking! Oh, and I would allow people one ability that they've always wanted to have. Like for me, I have always wanted to fly.

To "Warrior Pooflinger" - This is strictly for fun. I really wasn't asking for anyone to be wiser or a better judge than God. However, I have to give you props for your Avator's name. Love it!
To "Javed Iqbal" - Ditto above statement about this being only a fun little exercise! Nothing serious here.
To "Gayle" - You had me rolling on the floor with you trying to come up with something!
One last thing: I just thought of something that would have been a really good thing to be able to do, and I can't believe no one has thought of this. How about being able to eat ANYTHING and EVERYTHING and as much as you want, and NEVER gain an ounce!!! How great would that be??? (Of course, this would only apply to adults - obviously children need to grow! But again, this is just for fun.)

I'm a believer.
First of all, I agree with the people who say that it's foolish to think I am wiser than God or could do things better, and I realize that anything I would change is just a reflection of my inferiority.
I'm not sure what I'd change, except to take away disease. And stupidity. I'd also limit man's knowledge (more than it is), making him unable to create things to harm others like the atomic bomb and germ warfare. I also like the idea of time travel, but being only an observer who couldn't change anything. I'd love to go back to see things like my parents and grandparents when they were younger, and just what various places looked like years ago.
Good question.

Since this is just for fun...I'd...man! I'm having a hard time coming up with something. For years I believed I was a god and thought I knew a whole lot more about what was right and good than the God of the Holy Bible did. Now, (as a believer) I can't think of anything I could do better than He did.
But...I'm trying to get in the spirit here because I know you are asking in a respectful way.
Okay...if I were God...Yikes! Sorry to ramble here but I'm really trying. I just can't think of something that would wipe out the ability He gave humans to make choices (bad or good). We'd be robots, otherwise.
I like your answers! Animals talking, flying. Those would be so cool!
Ummm...no pain? uh...no gain?
I can do this! I know I can!
I know! We all get a robot to do things we don't want to do (like clean the toilets and do the dishes and mop the floors). I guess you can tell I'm tired of housework! That would give us more time to enjoy the people we love and nature and whatever.
Okay. I did it.
I'd like to add flying, if that's okay. And talking to the animals. I really like your ideas but felt the need to come up with something different.
Thanks for the question! It really made me think.
Now I'll go eat a cookie.
Take care and God bless!
Gayle

Are you insane? Never ask such questions. God Almighty is the beloved Lord of billions of people. It is ridiculous to hurt the feelings of so many people.
There could not have been more than One Real God and there NEVER will be.
Better think what good use you can make of your huamanity.
God made you His best creature. Dont let this opportunity go away. You get life only once!

I am a Believer.
I've had about three false starts in trying to think of what to change! For one, maybe tweak some of the geography so that there aren't so many mountains; second, fix some of the badlands, etc. so that this land could be put to better use; finally make self-dissolving leaves so that we wouldn't have to spend so much time raking in the fall!
Thank you for your good spirit, even though you've probably seen some "drole-troll" responses!

The first thing I'd do is to be consistent with my book (or vice versa) i.e. if I had a global flood in my book I would ensure that there was valid and apparent evidence of it. I would eliminate the need for blood sacrifice, and the choice between good and evil as it's not necessary for free will.

First, I would stop the utter confusion that has been created by the claims of man trying to tell everyone else who god is and isn't. in other words a word of god would be literally a word from god. It would not be a mere claim of man. After all the present state of the bible is nothing more than the claims of man. therefore to disagree with the bible means merely to disagree with the claims of man. That would end.

i like the idea about letting animals talk. that would be really sweet.
the ability i'd like is being able to make myself invisible. another one is i'd like to be able to snap my fingers and be anywhere in the world i wanted to be in a split second. talk about cheap traveling ;-)
i usually don't think about things like this because only God knows what He is doing. and thankfully, He does :-)
i grew up going to Christian churches and got saved at age 10. since then i've rededicated my life to God a few times because i'd backslidden.
i live in Utah - which is a hard place to grow up non-LDS.
anywho, yeah...there is my answer :-)

If I were God I'd have to come down and give a speech (first off - to prove I was real) telling people to quit thanking me for their *bling* and other trivial crap. And I'd tell them to quit blaming me for the stuff they keep doing to themselves. I'd tell the terrorists to knock it off or I'll go unholy on their *sses. I'd smack some evangelists around for being idiots, then I'd go check out life on other planets to see if its doing any better than this one.

I'd definitely put a stop to wars, poverty, disease and all that. If I wanted adoration, I'd do something to earn it instead of simply demanding it.
Oh, and animals talking? That's gonna make it pretty tough to eat steak. I'll pass on that one.

I think I'd make time travel possible, but limited, just to keep people from screwing things up too much.
I'd also end hunger and child abuse. I'd end all crime and injustice, but then the world would probably implode.
