are yorkies good dogs(when i say tyhat i mean do they bark alot(then that wuold be bad))?

Well trained and socialized yorkies are good dogs.

Poorly trained and socialized yorkies are bad dogs.

It depends more on the owner's training than the dog's breed.

I have a yorkie and he doesnt bark that much. Usually he wines....and if he does bark it will be one bark and then thats it....I live in an apartment and its imprortant that he doesnt make too much noice. It all really comes down to the owner and how they train their dogs. And as far as other traits or whatnot....i think they are good dogs....but i think all dogs are good dogs when trained properly....you cannot judge a dog by his breed.....all dogs are different!

My Yorkie was a jerk!. We inherited him at 8 years old, and any damage to his personality was already done. But I think each animal takes on the personality that was forced on them by their owners. Kelly had been kept lock up in a washroom almost his whole life. He was fed and bathed but not loved by his family. He was in prison until we got him.

He never barked. I guess because he had everything he needed before he knew he needed it. The only time I heard him bark was when something really upset him. But he had a bad attitude about things that didn't go his way. He would stalk off and hide until we fixed whatever had made him unhappy. We called him "Devil Dog" and the vets assistant call him "the dog from hell".

But we loved him and he had a very good life. Every one extended themselves to make him happy.

they bark.......A LOT..... my neighbor had a yorkie for years and he never shut up...he even barked so much that when we were inside our house and he was inside his house we could hear him
