Do you wrap Santa's Presents?

When I was little my mom just set what santa got us out under the tree, it wasn't wrapped up. My friend says she wraps what "santa" gives her kids. This year we got my daughter a bunch of doll furniture we have to put together and set up, so I was going to set it under the tree put together instead of in a box. The boys are getting various building sets they asked for from santa. What do you think?

My mom would wrap presents from Santa that were easy to wrap, but the bigger, awkward-shaped ones she just left out. If you want to have some kind of fun, wrapping paper involved, try putting some extra wrapping paper over the door to the room with the Christmas tree (or at the end of a hallway, etc). Cut it a little, and the kids will have to bust through to get to their presents. My parents did that for me one time when Santa's presents weren't wrapped, and I remember I thought it was the greatest thing ever!

My mom never wrapped the presents from Santa, she would just make a nice little display out of them under the tree or on the chair near the tree. My step-mother would wrap them all and write "from santa" on them, it didn't take us too long to figure out that she had the same handwriting as santa. My daughter is only 5 months old this Christmas, so we don't really have to worry about it too much, but in the future I think we will leave Santa's gifts unwrapped.

Everything gets wrapped at our house, even large things like bikes. The only things that I can remember ever getting that weren't wrapped was a swingset and a playhouse.

You know, until this year when I was reading some of the questions on here, it never occurred to me that some peopel might not wrap all of the presents. To me, the best part of Christmas is watching the little kids tear the paper off to see what it is!

If I were you, I would wrap the building sets, and then get a sheet and drape it over the set-up house. Add an oversized bow on the outside, and her name tag, and you're good to go!

Depending on how old she is, and if she's notice, you can either use a sheet you already have, or you can go get one she's never seen before at the dollar store. At my house, none of us ever thought about how strange it was the Santa had all the same kinds of wrapping paper that mom does, but at my husbands house, his mom always bought a special roll and only used it on Santa gifts.

My mom would wrap the box-like presents, but big stuff like doll houses or bikes or wagons full of toys she would just put a bow with a tag saying "from Santa" on them.

I think just setting them under the tree in a small display would cause a riot for your boys. Wrapping presents is fun, but big awkward gifts are hard to wrap.

Our presents were always wrapped, except for a few things, or things that were too large to be wrapped. (like new sleds) Other things like the Christmas bears I used to get, had just a tag and bow on them. My parents did a great job with that stuff, and I do it the same way for my daughter. It would seem weird to me to not wrap any presents (that's why Santa has Elves!), but each family has their own thing I guess.

Do whatever you want. They're going to be so excited about the toys that they won't care too much.
In our house, we wrap everything. We use one kind of wrapping paper for the presents from Mommy and Daddy, and special Santa presents for the things "Santa" brings. For some of the large and hard to wrap things, I found a giant Santa bag to put them in - I thought it was a really cute touch! In addition, my husband and I are building a small backyard rink for our son. That's going to be from us, but in order to get him outside to see it, we're leaving reindeer food (dry oatmeal mixed with red and green crystal sprinkles) on the lawn on Christmas Eve. When my son goes outside to see if the reindeer ate their food, he's going to find a silver bell on a red ribbon that the "reindeer" dropped. Then, he's going to see his own little rink. We obviously can't wrap the rink, but that's fine.
Yes, he's an only child - for a few more months, at least! Merry Christmas!

I think with things like furniture and bigger toys like bikes, setting them up and placing them under the tree is nicer than wrapping a box of parts. But for smaller things it just gives them another present to unwrap, just put a BIG bow on the bigger things.

for your boys i say wrap it and for your girl build the doll furniture so she can enjoy it straight away but maybe put a bow on it also maybe buy one kind of wrapping paper thats just for the presents from santa

final 12 months became the 1st 12 months that I discovered he would not continually wrap his grants. For our abode, he continually did, yet while i became celebrating Christmas with my boyfriend/s kin (he nevertheless has a 7 12 months previous little brother) they set all of their grants out in the time of December and then on Christmas morning while Santa got here along with his, they have been all unwrapped. i concept it became the cutest concept ever so for my son, all of his Santa grants would be unwrapped. Saves any questions over handwriting similarities and having to purchase distinctive "santa" wrapping paper like yet another answerer reported.

When I was a child my parents always set out the gifts from Santa unwrapped next to the fire place.. They would place big bows on the top of boxes etc..to make the gifts look more special (it came from santa). The gifts I got from them were wrapped normally. So I think you should keep them unwrapped..it was always fun waking up on the morning excited to see my gifts from Santa.. :) Merry Christmas
