They are both under 50 bucks at bhphotovideo.com . I looks like the specs on the Diana my be a little bit better. They both have plastic lenses.

You could also get a much better camera used off ebay and get a Holga polaroid back to go on it. Then you would have a glass lens.

You could also accomplish the same effect using a drop in filter in front of the lens of a standard type camera and it could sever more than one purpose.

But under 50 bucks is pretty cheap.

I suggest staying with modern cameras and using post-processing (you can find free Photoshop Holga-type Actions) to get the Holga look. You'll have more control and better success rate that way.

The Holga would be my choice. It can take 120 or 35mm. The 35mm is easier and less expensive to have processed and put onto disk.Plus there are some great accessories available.

Hmmm... The Holgaroid is an interesting pic. I toyed with getting one myself until I found a couple of Polaroid LandCameras. Just be warned - the Holgaroid can be a little pricy for film, because the Polaroid 669 film needs to be special ordered save select photo stores (and even then, it costs a good amount more than ordered online).

Aside from the novelty factor I don't think there is any reason to buy either of these cameras. Odds are you might use them one time and then they would become dust magnets in your closet. Plug-ins can replicate the effects of these things so why try for the original?
