I have a nice ivy that is getting long, and am thinking of hanging it up. Is this considered out-of-style?

I've gotten into tall plant stands. They give that vertical accent that most rooms are missing and the look great with vines cascading down. Ross usually has some for about $20.
You can always change the color with spray paint to go with your room.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. If you like the hanging plants and think they are pretty...then who cares what anyone else thinks. If they were outdated as some say they are....then why would stores risk buying them to sell them to customers if no one buys them.

Besides...I have been around long enough to know that things that have come and gone....always come back again.

To the jerk STEPH that accused someone of hanging a houseplant as "atheistic."....you suck. I can't believe people are so stupid to say such things to someone only wanting to know about hanging a plant.....Geezzz........STEPH Grow up and think before you speak to others...

Go ahead and hang that beautiful plant and enjoy it in all its God given glory.........popularility is what you want to do with what you have. Be creative, be different, and do your decorating tastefully, and enjoy every minute of it. I do like hanging houseplants because it draws the eye up and around the room....adds color and excitement to that plain place on the wall.

Looks like STEPH removed her horrible comment...I apologize for the above comment since she removed it...

In short, yes. Houseplants definitely aren't out, but hanging them up is so 70's -ish :)

Put it in a beautifully stylish pot & enjoy it.

Yes, especially with macramae (sp?) hangers. If you can find a modern, hip plant hanger (which I certainly haven't seen, but maybe they exist), then maybe you could get away with it.

P.S. - Steph, I think you mean aesthetic, not atheistic.

never out of style.
'Styles' are for your personal taste.
'Other people's styles' depends on how & where it is placed.

The pot that it is in. Where you place it. Type of hanger you use. Personalize it with your room's decor.

Out of style or not, if you find it attractive , do it.
