Make sure you are organized. Before you get off the 1st plane to get to the 2nd make sure you have all of your things (wallet, boarding pass, etc) in the right compartments in your carry-on so they are easy to find. Don't be running all over the airport with an open purse, a sweater in one had, a ticket in your armpit, a frappuccino in the other hand all while talking on the phone. Catch my drift?
With the wonders of the internet you can look up a map of the airport you are going to and print it out. That way you already know ahead of time which terminal you need to go to.
Good Luck!

If both terminals are in the same complex, i.e. if you do not have to exit into the street and take a cab, your travel schedule should at least provide a layover time of 1.30 h. (Taking into account this is holiday season). If you have to exit and continue to the other terminal by whatever means (shuttle, skytrain, cab) make that 2 hours.
At the check in in Charlottesville make sure your registered bags are CHECKED THROUGH to your final destination: check the double airport code luggage tags.
At arrival in Cincinatti immediately go to the Transit desk of your airline to see what the status of your connecting flight is and act accordingly.
Some carriers (Delta, AA) announce the status and the gates of connecting flights 10 minutes before landing. If your situation is critical and your connecting flight is from the same airline: a) ask the cabin attendant to allow you to disembark first and b) to radio the airline that a passenger for the connecting flight has a small delay but will still be able to make it (This is for the cases that you have a delay causing a touch and go arrival at the connecting exit. Some airlines will send an electric cart at your arrival gate and whisk you thru the airport to your connecting gate. Bon voyage.

Ahead of time - like now, I mean - get a map of the Cincinnati airport, and find out where your terminals are located, and what kind of transportation there is between terminals. The airports I have been to have walkways, moving sidewalks, or even subways connecting them. If your ticket has the gate assignments already, find your gates there, and map out the route. Mentally rehearse it in your mind, so that when you get there, you know it's a left, downstairs, train B, and so forth...
Try to arrive at the Charlottesville airport early - at least 2 hours before your flight leaves. Check your bags, find your gate, and rest and relax there. Listen to the announcements as they load and unload aircraft, so you'll know if there are any last minute changes. Find the monitor and find your flight, so you can also track changes, departure times, etc.
When you get to Cincinnati, don't be shy about asking for help at the desk when you leave the first plane. That's part of the job for the crew in the terminal. If you have problems getting around, they can request a cart for you to ride in. If you need one, though, ask your airline if they can schedule that now, rather than at the last minute.

When you land in Cincinnati there will be a Airline rep at the end of the plane ramp to tell you how to get to your connecting flight. Your luggage will be moved by the airline staff. The gate where you will be flying from in Cincinnati knows you are coming and will save a seat for you by law. Orange County is a small airport and you can't get lost there.

There are people that work in the airport just for this reason. You can even ask the the flight attendant how to get there, because the fly in and out of the same airport all the time.

Before you go, look up the airport your flying into in Cincinnati -- print out a map of the terminal and familiarize yourself with it. Then when you arrive in Cincinnati, have it in your hand and ask someone to show you (on the paper) where you need to go.
You'll do fine!

just keep calm and everything will go smoothly.. theres always workers in the terminal if you need help with anything.
even if you ask a random person, they should be happy to help.
make sure to read the wall monitors about the flights so you know for sure whats going on.

Trust me. Just ask for assistance, airline officials are quite helpful.
Also, try not to have cumbersome luggage it helps with getting from A to B without too much difficulty.
