They hate Christians.
I am sad to say that one or two atheists will rejoice in the beatings and deaths of any and all Christians.
Several months ago, someone asked a question about how it was so hilarious that churches had been struck by lightning. Last night someone posted a "joke" about how a bus full of Christians plunged into icy water and were killed.....the only bad part was that there were 2 empty seats on the bus...2 less Christians to die.
This breaks my heart. We are hated, just because we love God.
True, Christians/Catholics have acted horribly in the past. Howis it going to make things better by beating and killing Christians NOW? How?

It's called "backlash" and it happens all over the world to all cultures and religions and has been doing so from the beginning of time. As I understand it, Hindu fundamentalism is on the rise and they don't take kindly to Christian fundamentalists and missionaries who are trying to convert Hindus (and Muslims) to Christianity. Religious fundamentalism and intolerance of all stripes breeds violence. It has nothing to do with this or that religion; it has to do with tribalism and human nature.

People of Faith have always been burning places of worship. This is nothing new.
It reminds me of when racists used to burn down buildings. Hopefully Faith will also go the way of Racism and we can all live in a better world.

These are some who hate Jesus and the message of peace that He brings. Gospel for Asia (http://www.gfa.org) has publications detailing other attempts such as this one.
And we can't forget the missionary, Graham Starnes (can't think of his last name now) who, along with his two sons, were burned to death inside their car. They were faithful unto death and rest from their labors.

ok i do not agree with it but there are many examples of christians killing people - and if religions want to kill and hurt each other then that just makes more people question religion and become atheists. which has to be a good thing.

It's natural for humans to act irrationally when dealing with concepts (like a foreign religion or culture) that they are not that familiar with and that would offer a differing perspective to their own concepts.

Shocking. If only they'd used a cruise missile instead, it would have been considered OK.
