Mix 1 egg, 1/4 cup milk, and a dash of cinnamon. Coat bread and place in buttered med/high pre heated pan. Fry until golden brown, flip, and remove when both sides are cooked.
Serve with powdered sugar sprinkled over top if you wish, and syrup...yum.

The best french toast is made with thick slices of day-old french bread. For one loaf of bread, beat together 6 eggs, about 1/2 c. milk, about 1 t. cinnamon, and a dash of vanilla. Soak the bread for about 5 minutes and then cook in a buttered pan over medium-low heat until nicely browned. Serve with warm, real maple syrup.

.In a shallow bowl, beat 3 eggs, 3/4 cup of milk, 1 TBS sugar and an 1/8 tsp of cinnamon. Coat bread (I prefer french bread slices for thickness and consistency) on both sides and cook until browned in a pan with melted butter. Serve with syrup.

Everyone has given you great answers for making french toast, but for great french toast use French bread or Italian bread, it sure makes a difference.

beat 2 eggs in a flat bowl, dip bread in and coat both sides, brown in a skillet where butter has been melted. 2 eggs will do about 4 slices of bread. you can add cinnamon if you like to the eggs.
