The flesh warreth against the spirit and the spirit warreth against the flesh. There is a battle going on inside of every believer. Yes we are saved and yes we do have the spirit of God living within us. But we also still have this earthly body and we still have that old sin nature that dwells within all of us.
These 2 battle daily within all of us. And the one that wins, the one that will be the strongest,will be the one that we feed the most. If we feed the flesh by hanging around the things of this world then the flesh will have control of us. But if we feed the spirit by thinking on and dwelling on spiritual things then he will win the battle for control of our lives.
How do we feed the Spirit?
Bible study
Prayer
Fellowship with other Christians
Praise worship ( let everything that has lips praise the Lord)

In my mind, too much stuff take up residence this time of year, but always only the Spirit of the Lord is allowed in my heart!!

Alanon has taught me to not allow "chaos" to "rent" space in my mind...but what I do allow in my mind and in my heart is hope that is compounded with my faith (and it's rent free-LOL)

What do you allow into your heart? Hopefully only blood, anything else could result in heart failure and death.

Jesus. Sometimes the things of the world creep in. I let things upset me at times. Thanks for the reminder.
