First of all, not all people know holiday comes from holy day. Also, with all this PC stuff, they hope to appeal to a broader audience. Frankly, the PC stuff has gone WAY overboard. If I feel something is true, (like Christmas!) I am going to state it, PC or not. Happy Holidays is a bit better than Seasons Greetings..."Yeah , Happy Winter Solstice to you too." Since Christmas is not the only religious celebration at this time of year, some may feel it is more inclusive.Sometimes I will come back with "Thank you, and may you know the joy of our Saviors birth." I know, I'm a radical. But if I really mean that all should know Christ as their Savior, and I do, it then is a VERY true sentiment. So MERRY CHRISTMAS, and may all come to know the Savior that came into the world.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you too.
If you have an open understanding that not everyone celebrates the same thing as you do, Happy Holidays is appropriate in the fact that it covers all the Holidays from different religions that are celebrated this time of year.

There are many religions that claim to be holy and celebrate festivals through out the year including December. "Merry Christmas" is only for certain "Christ" believing groups. So "Happy Holidays" is for everyone no just certain christian groups.

OOPS, now you have opened up a can of worms!
Yikes!
No matter what you say, someone will be offended.
Some people even get upset if you say, "Have a happy day!"
I'll say it anyway: Have a happy day!
What? Believers aren't offended by Happy Holidays OR Merry Christmas.

People are scared. They think that if they say Merry Christmas they will get attack by an unbeliever. Which is so stupid. I don't think people really know the meaning behind Happy holidays. If they knew what you just said they might say something completly different. Like Happy Vacationing or something dumb like that.
Merry Christmas!!!

This country has gone around the bend, trying to be politically correct. In it's effort, it is imploding. Why don't we all just settle back into the polite society we were during the 1950's. And if you don't remember that far back, take a walk through the internet and search for things related to that era. It was so much nicer then! Nobody had hidden agendas!
God bless!

Because Happy Holidays covers all the holidays this time of year, last I checked, Christmas wasn't the only winter holiday, and it didn't start in November.

Because there are other 'holy' days celebrated by other cults during the month of December. I can't believe people need to be told this, are you living in a cave or under a rock?
