I am currently Physically Training for the Police Academy, and I'm finding it hard to gain weight. I'm 6 Foot 0 Inch and 145 lbs...I've only gained 3 lbs over the past 2 years...However my muscle mass is more than Twice what it was then. No matter what I do .... I cant seem to gain any weight. I drink protein shakes, but unless I drink the shake then Immediately go work out...its useless... Any home remedies or any way I can gain weight or slow down my metabolism?

Awww... forget the shakes, over hyped, over marketed rubbish. Eat plenty of lean meat and complex carbs. Eat eat eat eat, grow grow grow grow.

I noticed absolutely no advantage from shakes once I had my diet perfect. I grew just as much without them. Mineral and Vitamin supps are a good idea though. Oh, and forget al that other over hyped rubbish. None of this stuff existed when bodybuilding first started (1920's I think with Sander). Those guys did alright. Spend the money on decent food, there is no shortcut solution, no magic powder. Just healthy eating and hard work!

The fast/slow metabolism stuff is unfounded rubbish aswell. You may think I' wrong, but prove it. Do you really know what you mean?

I would learn to understand exactly how your body works, how it uses foods, exactly what it can and cannot use, how it responds to exercise.

You may have to get pretty deep into the biology of it all, but it is interesting. Only when you have a clear understanding of how and why your body works, can you alter it's response as you wish.

Could you highly tune a performance engine without having a full and intimate understanding of how an engine functions?

eat before you go to sleep.

Eat more carbs....

if you want to be unhealthy then you need to download some chocolate and a lot of fast food. :(

I go with eating before you sleep. Also instead of eating 5x daily cut down to 3x and eat more of uneven amounts of food. Instead of hitting the pyramid pick and choose. the different combinations of food will effect the body differently. **this one is only if you actually follow the pyramid though*... most people who can maintain a weight eat more that 3 times daily and are constantly putting something in the mouth keeping their metabolism up. just take a look at your lifestyle and change it up. But eating before going to bed always works.

in case you wan't to benefit weight, and build muscle. you do no longer wan't to in basic terms over consume with junk ingredients. this could quite makeyou fatter, and risky. yet once you wan't to benefit muscle you will ought to drink some severe protein drink's, shakes, ingredients. Peanut Butter & Jelly i think of could be a solid start up. The Peanut Butter will supply you Protein, whilst the Jelly has lot's of severe Fructose, and Sugars, to help positioned of the burden. you would be able to wan't to ascertain out some low-value CVS Pharmacy over-the-counter varieties of organic herb pills to help help the muscle groups. i can't think of of any names of those varieties, yet i be attentive to they exist, i've got heard of human beings taking them, and had solid consequences whilst taken frequently.
