The only PS3 ever made that cannot play PS2 games is the 40GB PS3.

The 20GB, 60GB, and 80GB PS3's can play PS1 and PS2 games. The 20GB and 60GB PS3's can play nearly all PS1 and PS2 games. The 80GB PS3 can play around 75%-80% of PS1 and PS2 games.

Yes, about 80% can play on it, almost all of them work fine, and they will save on the PS3, you don't have to get an external memory card. If you want to upload data from your old memory cards, you'll need to get the memory card adapter for 15$

I believe that you can, but make sure that your ps2 game is backwards compatible because not all games work on the 80 GB model.

Of course, but if u plan on saving progress, u'll need an external memory card. They will not save on the PS3's harddrive. You can get them for about $15.

No, but PSa2 and Mp5 are going to be combined, by Nomob Technologies, sometime in February. Should be in the shops in April for less than the cost of a new NR4.

I don't see why not--don't all the systems have backward capabilities? If they didn't, I'm sure *many* people would be extremely peeved.
